Liberty Belle History

The Fey Brothers, Marshall and Frank, opened the Liberty Belle in 1958 featuring their grandfather's Liberty Bell machine as a center piece. The world famous collection grew to over 200 machines, many used to enhance the decor of the restaurant and bar.

The machine to the left, a 1901 Caille NEW CENTURY DETROIT , was located in Wisconsin through an ad in the Antique Trader magazine. The other is an 1899 Mills TWIN DEWEY that was found in a local warehouse and purchased for $375.

The majority of the machines pictured in Slot Machines: America's Favorite Gaming Device were in the immense Liberty Belle Collection, which was auctioned off in 2006

For over 48 years the Liberty Belle, a shrine to Grandfather Charles Fey and his Liberty Bell Slot, housed the largest slot collection on public display. A repository for slot machine history the collection was featured on the History Channel, the Today Show and the Antique Road Show.It was also show-placed on German, Japanese and Swedish TV plus numerous other medias world wide.

The restaurant was noted for its Prime Rib and Spinach Salad. The Fey Bros. held a Nevada State Gaming license for more than 47 years operating up to 15 machines - including a Caille Roulette and a Centaur.
